These Terms of Service (“Terms”) explain how I provide my proofreading and editing services and what you can expect when working with ClearStyle English.
I provide proofreading and editing services for:
My edits focus on clarity, tone, flow, and natural-sounding English, while also correcting errors in spelling and grammar.
I do not provide translation or content creation services.
I do not alter factual content unless specifically requested.
All quotes are provided in writing and are valid for 30 days.
The price and delivery deadline are agreed in advance before work begins and do not change unless the agreed work changes.
Invoices are issued in your company’s preferred currency wherever possible, and the currency will always be agreed in advance.
Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date, unless otherwise agreed.
Payment is normally made by bank transfer to the account details provided on the invoice.
Where possible, I provide local account details so you can pay by domestic transfer rather than international SWIFT.
For large projects, I may request partial prepayment.
If additional work is requested beyond what was originally agreed, this will be quoted and agreed in advance before that work is carried out.
You are responsible for ensuring all materials you provide are accurate, lawful, and original.
You should review the edited documents before publication to ensure they reflect your intended meaning.
Turnaround times are confirmed in advance for each project, before work begins. If a shorter turnaround is requested after this point, availability and any changes to delivery timing or fees will be confirmed in advance.
All client materials are treated as strictly confidential and are accessed only by me, Matthew Bryan, founder of ClearStyle English.
I do not use subcontractors or share client materials with third parties.
If requested, I am happy to sign a client-provided non-disclosure agreement (NDA), or I can provide my own pre-signed NDA for your review.
You retain full ownership of all documents and content you provide.
ClearStyle English claims no ownership or intellectual property rights over your materials at any time.
If you wish to cancel a confirmed project, please notify me promptly.
Any work completed up to the time of cancellation will be billed based on the actual time spent working on your project.
Refunds for any prepaid but uncompleted work are provided at my discretion.
While I take great care to provide accurate and professional work, I cannot be held liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss, cost, or damage arising from the use of edited materials. My total liability is limited to the amount paid for the relevant service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and any disputes will be subject to its courts.
